David

Anointed as a young shepherd, David rose to become Israel's greatest king after facing the giant Goliath with only a sling and faith. He stumbled gravely yet returned to God in genuine repentance, and Scripture remembers him as a man after God's own heart. Many of the Psalms are attributed to him.
