Elizabeth
Elizabeth was a righteous woman, barren until old age, who conceived John the Baptist as God promised. When her cousin Mary visited, the child leapt in her womb and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, greeted Mary as the mother of her Lord. Her words echo in the prayer the Church still prays.
