Lent
Lent is the season of forty days of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that prepares the Church for Easter. Recalling Jesus' forty days in the wilderness, it is a time of repentance and renewal, of turning back to God with the whole heart. The season invites us to die to sin so that we may rise with Christ.
- Role: Season of penance before Easter
- Key Scripture: Matthew 4:1-11, Joel 2:12-13, 2 Corinthians 5:20-21
