Capernaum

Capernaum was a fishing town on the shore of the Sea of Galilee that became a base for Jesus' ministry. He taught in its synagogue, healed the sick, and called Matthew from his tax post here. Despite the many wonders he worked there, Jesus lamented the town's lack of repentance.
