Caesarea Philippi
Caesarea Philippi was a city at the northern reach of the Holy Land, set near a spring at the base of Mount Hermon and known for its pagan shrines. Jesus brought his disciples to this region and asked them who they believed him to be. There Peter confessed him as the Christ, the Son of the living God, and Jesus spoke of building his Church upon that rock of faith.
