Judea
Judea was the southern region of the Holy Land surrounding Jerusalem, the heartland of the tribe of Judah and the seat of the Temple. Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, and much of his teaching, his final journey, and his passion unfolded within its borders. After Pentecost the apostles carried the Gospel outward from Judea to Samaria and beyond.
