Mount Sinai
Mount Sinai, also called Horeb, was the mountain in the wilderness where God revealed himself to Israel after the exodus from Egypt. There Moses received the Ten Commandments amid thunder, fire, and cloud, and the covenant was sealed between God and his people. The prophet Elijah later journeyed to the same mountain and heard the Lord not in wind or earthquake but in a still, small voice.
