Pool of Bethesda
The Pool of Bethesda lay near the Sheep Gate in Jerusalem, ringed by five covered porticoes where the sick and the disabled would gather. There Jesus found a man who had been ill for thirty-eight years and asked whether he wished to be made well. With a word Jesus healed him and told him to take up his mat and walk.
