The Temple
The Temple in Jerusalem was the central place of worship and sacrifice for the people of Israel, the house where God's presence dwelt among them. Mary and Joseph presented the infant Jesus there, and the boy Jesus was found among the teachers in its courts. As an adult he taught within its walls, drove out the money changers, and foretold its coming destruction.
