Tyre and Sidon
Tyre and Sidon were ancient Phoenician port cities on the Mediterranean coast north of the Holy Land, renowned for their trade and seafaring. People from this Gentile region came to hear Jesus and to be healed. It was near here that a Canaanite woman pleaded with Jesus for her daughter, and her great faith won her request.
