The Angelus
The Angelus is a traditional devotion recalling the Incarnation, when the Word became flesh in the womb of the Virgin Mary. Prayed three times daily at morning, noon, and evening, often to the sound of a bell, it weaves the mystery of Christ's coming into the rhythm of ordinary work and rest. Its verses meditate on the angel Gabriel's announcement and Mary's faithful yes.
